Introducing Tracy Wiper!
Tracy Wiper
U12 A Head Coach
My name is Tracy Wiper, and I am excited to introduce myself as the head coach of the Erie North Shore
U11 A hockey team and the future coach of the amalgamated U12 A team.
Growing up in the small town of Leamington, where hockey was more than just a pastime, it became the
heartbeat of our community. I spent my weekends at the rink with my dad and brother, bundled up
against the cold, skating through the same routines week after week. The rink wasn’t just a place to
play—it was where we built memories and friendships, where I learned the true value of the sport.
Through countless hours spent practicing and cheering from the sidelines, I realized that hockey wasn’t
only about the game itself but the discipline it instilled and the connections it fostered between
teammates, opponents, and everyone in the stands.
It taught me that through hard work, dedication, and
respect for others, we all grow stronger—on and off the ice.
With over 45 years of coaching experience, I have had the pleasure of working with players in age groups
ranging from 10 to 21, and I’ve coached at all levels, including travel hockey. Throughout my career, I
have learned that the key to success on the ice starts with creating a positive and enjoyable experience
for the players.
My coaching philosophy focuses on three main principles:
• Having Fun: The game should be enjoyable, and I strive to ensure that every player looks
forward to coming to practice and games.
• Teaching Foundational Skills & Systems: I focus on building a solid foundation of hockey
skills and teaching effective systems that will help players grow and succeed.
• Collaboration & Teamwork: One of the most important lessons I aim to impart is the value
of working together.
Hockey is a team sport, and I believe that teaching players how to
collaborate with each other both on and off the ice is essential to their development.
Additionally, I place a strong emphasis on building a good rapport with parents, as I believe that open
communication and a team approach are crucial for the success of both the players and the team as a
whole.
I am looking forward to working with your child this season and helping them develop their skills, grow as
players, and enjoy the game of hockey.
See you at the rink,
Coach Wipe
